Senior Technical Consultant 1986 to Present

 

MMA was an authorized reseller of RealWorld, RWFund (Non-Profit), Synchronics (POS) and BusinessWorks DOS and Windows based accounting software (1986-96).  I have led consulting teams on software choices, diagnosis, system integration and computer repair, communications planning and build computer network topologies (WiFi and cabled), troubleshooting and administration.

 

 I’ve acted as a computer consultant and trainer for dozens of diverse manufacturing and service organizations.  Managed accounting transition projects for 25-30 companies/organizations from paper or earlier computer based ledgers to new accounting procedures, most recently with QuickBooks Accounting.

 

As Web Director for MMA I’ve configured, installed and maintained our own Microsoft 2000-03 Enterprise web and streaming server since 1999 (TRdirect.com) as well as host, configure and administer a dozen third party websites with a special emphasis on video streaming technologies. I’ve designed and executed a variety of commercial websites and database applications.

Instructor (PC/LAN Program) 2000 to 2002

 

Acted as classroom/lab instructor for third quarter in a four quarter System Administrator certificate (proprietary school) program. Taught 160 hour CNA prepatory class on Novell 5.1 (LAN) and 80 hour Microsoft Visual Basic V.6 introductory course.  Issues covered include network hardware and software planning, OS installation, maintenance, administration, application development, application installation and deployment

System Support Supervisor 1997 to 1999

 

Working with the Project Integration Team it was my responsibility to install, test, and troubleshoot (HEAT) enterprise merchandise distribution software (JDA), maintain 47 hand held Wifi units and train staff in their use. (AS400 & Novell)

 

Maintained and upgraded accounting application software on a variety of platforms (DOS, Windows, NT, Novell(2)).

Provided hardware support of one hundred PC's. Led support team on problem diagnosis and computer repair, communications/internet planning, Y2K scripting/testing and LAN/WAN administration. Developed curriculum for staff training, taught in the classroom and created a multi-media training program (broadcast intranet).

MIS Director 1994 to 1996

 

Directed Information Systems for 18 club, health & fitness operations through downsizing, bankruptcy and subsequent reorganization.  Maintained SCO Unix based membership application program, reorganized accounting applications and subsequently converted all data files to a Windows 95 based database.  Activities ranged from operator training and membership accounting  to LAN administration.

        Director; 1982 to 1986

 

Director of sales, manufacturing operations, purchasing, billing department, payroll and fundraising/grantsmanship for an organization serving 824 employees at three worksites. Compiled financial statements and led monthly meetings for to a seven member board of directors. Oversaw investing corporate assets for future growth. Directed conversion of accounting to a computerized network reporting system.
